The Friends Reunion is already a disaster — who invited these guests?

HBO Max'south Friends Reunion was one of its biggest announcements when the streaming service start announced. And now we're finally going to become information technology, on May 27 — and I am already sure I'm going to detest-lookout man it.

I loved Friends when it was the pillar of NBC's Must See Boob tube lineup. I've been that guy who claimed (incorrectly) that information technology was better than Seinfeld. I actually cared almost Ross and Rachel'south on-and-off-and-on relationship. I was featherbrained when Chandler and Monica finally made it happen. I even did that thing where Ross and Monica would knock 2 fists confronting each other, their ain version of giving the middle finger. I think Joey'southward dissection of Rachel's trifle is perfect.

Larry Hankin was a neighbour of Monica and Rachel'southward, who lived downstairs and was upset virtually all the noise. Tom Selleck played Dr. Richard Shush, who dated Monica — and didn't want to accept kids with her. James Michael Tyler was Gunther, Rachel's boss at the Central Perk coffee house. You may know Maggie Wheeler's laugh better than her name, every bit she played Janice, Chandler'southward on-and-off love involvement. And, lastly, Reese Witherspoon was Rachel's sis, Jill Greene.

What's wrong with the Friends Reunion

Reunion specials are rarely fantastic amusement, such as The West Fly reunion where the bandage reenacted an episode, so nosotros kind of need to lower our standards already. What nosotros know almost the Friends episode is uncomplicated: the main six stars will reprise their roles for role of this new "special" episode — just the rest of the projection will consist of the actors beingness themselves. Nobel Prize laureate Malala Yousafzai (born July 12, 1997) may be a prestigious proper noun, just she'due south even younger, and would have been vi when the show ended.

I get that these are all large stars, and they could assist the special draw younger eyes, but wasn't this long-awaited reunion big enough? More confusing are the folks that don't seem to take whatsoever real reason, other than being famous. James Corden, for example, is simply one of the many celebrities who is all-time known for his ubiquity. I'm not against the human being making coin, merely his mere presence is a sign that whatsoever random celebrity is welcome.

Lady Gaga and Mindy Kaling are cracking and fun, but — over again — nope, no relation to the testify, does not vest. We don't know why David Beckham is on this listing, either, outside of that time he was photographed wearing a Friends shirt.

The Friends Reunion is missing real stars similar Mike Hannigan

Does the proper noun Mike Hannigan not ring a bell? If so, so you owe Paul Rudd an apology, as his work playing Hannigan, Phoebe Buffay'due south third husband, helped make the later Friends seasons watchable.

The large list of huge guest stars missing from the Reunion is its own split story, but permit's just call back that Julia Roberts, Jean Claude Van Damme, Isabella Rosellini, Christina Applegate, Billy Crystal, Helen Hunt and Winona Ryder could all have been invited. Heck, one-act icon Danny DeVito should exist here, because he should be everywhere.

Of course, I know nosotros're not going to get Brad Pitt to reprise the part of Volition Colbert — there's too much history with him and Jennifer Aniston. Similarly, Aisha Tyler is probably non coming back due to her issues with evidence co-creator Marta Kauffman stemming from Friends' melanin deficiency. Oh, and the list goes on. Why can't we become George Clooney, who also guest-starred on the show? Giovanni Ribisi, Morgan Fairchild and Kathleen Turner are also amidst the names we wish were on this list.

Possibly these large names will exist the big surprises that HBO Max doesn't want to spoil. Either style, Friends Reunion? We're on a suspension, effective now.
